1. If you could be anywhere in the world, where would you be?
Right here with my husband, friends, family, and colleagues. I really believe it’s who you’re with and not where you are that makes life special.
2. What’s playing on your iPod?
Everything from Ella Fitzgerald to Green Day and the Black Eyed Peas. I’m also a big ’80s music fan—loved listening to it when I was a toddler (ha ha).
3. What is your favorite cause or charity?
There are so many worthy causes I support, but one of my favorites is Daffodil Days for the American Cancer Society.
4. What’s your top travel tip?
Always make sure you get a good seat on the plane: Stay on top of it from the moment you book your flight. I think that makes a huge difference. A middle seat or a seat way in the back is such a drag.
5. What’s the best book you’ve read recently?
I just read “My Life in France,” by Julia Child, while I was on vacation and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Julia Child’s true love of life, her determined spirit, and making the most of everything around her is inspiring and refreshing.
6. What do you do to stay healthy?
Laugh a lot. Obviously exercise and healthy eating are really important, but I think humor is key to your mental well-being.
7. What is your favorite quote or saying?
I have many favorites, but I love this one from Maya Angelou: “Nothing will work unless you do.”
8. Who inspires you?
My parents. Even though both are in heaven, they are in my heart every day, instilling the great foundation they created from day one. They both taught me to be kind, respectful, work hard, and to always do the right thing.
