What do you wish you had more time for in your job?
To spend more time with people I’ve worked with for years. They have become friends but we’re too busy to just catch up sometimes other than to discuss day-to-day work-related things.
What’s your best tip for keeping up your energy on site at a meeting?
Get as much rest as you can, take vitamins, drink plenty of water, and try to get some fresh air and exercise, even if it’s nothing but a walk after-hours or early in the morning. Easier said than done on site, but you can find a way.
Forging relationships with your C-level executives is critical today. Do you have any tips for creating a successful partnership?
Take advantage of opportunities to get to know them both professionally and personally. This is easy for meeting professionals because of the nature of what we do. This way you get to know what their hot buttons are. Then take that information and include it in a proactive strategy so they know you’re on the same page and their expectations are going to be met.
If you could be anywhere in the world, where would you be?
Home in my backyard.
If you got an unexpected day off, what are the top three things you would do with your extra time?
Rest, read, and catch up with friends and family I seldom talk to because of my crazy life.
What TV show is filling your DVR these days?
Nothing much. I am a habitual channel surfer and ESPN SportsCenter watcher. It would drive anyone crazy.
What is your favorite photo or object sitting on your desk right now?
My favorite desk item is a quote sent to me by [Fontainebleau Miami Beach Director of National Accounts] Anne Erickson years ago. It simply says: “You can easily judge the character of a man by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.”
