Gavin Houston, Universal WorldEvents’ CEO Americas and a regular contributor to the Pharma Forum conferences co-organized by and The Center for Business Intelligence, has been named by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of the top 40 business leaders under the age of 40 in the Philadelphia region. Houston was chosen as a top performer in the pharmaceutical meeting planning industry and for his work as a dynamic leader within the greater Philadelphia community. He and his fellow honorees were recognized at an awards dinner in May.
Houston, who joined WorldEvents in 1999 as an entry-level project coordinator, rose quickly through the ranks and helped to grow WorldEvents to from 20 employees to more than 80 employees via a combination of organic growth and acquisition/merger activity. Through a merger, WorldEvents become Universal WorldEvents in 2011 and Gavin was promoted from executive vice president to CEO in 2012. In addition to his work at WorldEvents, Houston is an advisory board member to the International Medical Meeting Professionals Association.
