Starwood has just opened The Westin Grand Bohemian in Orlando. The 250-room luxury downtown property has 9,600 square feet of flexible meeting space, including a 2,500-square-foot ballroom and seven additional meeting rooms.

  • Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando, a Loews Hotel, will become the third on-site property at Universal Orlando, Florida, in 2002. Set on 53 acres, the luxury resort will offer 1,000 guest rooms and suites and almost 80,000 square feet of meeting and function space that will include a 41,503-square-foot ballroom, seating up to 4,600 people.   • Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Buckhead recently broke ground on a 6,300-square-foot ballroom expansion. The $15 million project will also include the renovation of 290 guest rooms and suites. The new grand ballroom will seat up to 280 people theater-style or 500 for a reception. On completion, the property will offer more than 8,900 square feet of function space.

  • The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf Hotel and Residences will open its doors in spring 2003. The four-building complex will include a 185-room luxury hotel and be set at the edge of Boston Harbor, within walking distance of Boston's central business district and many historic landmarks. BEYOND BORDERS

Wyndham International Inc. recently signed a contract to manage a new, full-service property that is to be built in downtown Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Set to open in 2004, the new Wyndham hotel will offer approximately 300 guest rooms and more than 16,000 square feet of meeting space, including an 8,000-square-foot ballroom.
