Debra Rosencrance, CMP, CAE, vice president of meetings and exhibits for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, will be honored by the Professional Convention Management Association for her achievements and contributions to the meeting planning profession.
Rosencrance will be feted at the 2008 PCMA Education Foundation Dinner Celebrating Professional Achievement, which will be held April 2, 2008, at the Hilton Washington in Washington, D.C. She is the association’s meeting professional honoree. Joan Eisenstodt, chief strategist, Eisenstodt Associates, Washington, D.C., is the educator honoree, while Charles Ahlers, president of the Anaheim/Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau, is the supplier partner award-winner.
"We are excited for the opportunity to honor the lifetime accomplishments of these exceptional industry leaders. The honorees were selected because of their dedication and passion for advancing our industry," said Deborah Sexton, PCMA president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
Rosencrance has been with AAO since 1986 and has been vice president of meetings and exhibits since 1997. In her current position, Rosencrance manages and supervises all aspects of the third largest medical meeting in the country, with over 26,000 attendees. Also, Rosencrance served on the PCMA Board of Directors from 2001 to 2003 and has participated on numerous PCMA committees and taskforces. In addition, she has been active within the Northern California Chapter of PCMA, serving a term as president in 1999.
