The giant independent meeting planning company Conferon, Inc. has merged with ExpoExchange, a full-service tradeshow event services company, to form Conferon Global Services. CGS will be a soup-to-nuts outsourcing provider for corporate and association events, providing such services as site selection, registration, housing room block management, sales lead management, and online event development.

Mike Goodwin, president and CEO of ExpoExchange, will serve as CEO of CGS. Bruce Harris, president and CEO of Conferon, will serve as president. "This is a marriage that has been waiting for years to happen," said Harris. The combined companies book nearly four million room nights annually.

The 625 CGS employees will continue to be based at their existing offices. Conferon is headquartered in Twinsburg, Ohio, with regional offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C. ExpoExchange is headquartered in Frederick, Md., with regional offices in Deerfield, Ill., Washington, D.C., and Atlanta, Ga.
