According to the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, booking activities for domestic travelers have picked up and many who initially cancelled trips have rebooked for later dates. Visitor statistics released by the Hawaii State Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism show that, as of October 1, domestic travel was at 80 percent of what would be typical for this time of year.

According to Tony Vericella, HVCB’s president and CEO, air service to Hawaii remains strong. "Airlines serving Hawaii are operating 95 percent of their flight schedules, indicating a continuing demand for travel to the islands."
