Bill Peeper, president of the Orlando/Orange County Convention Visitors Bureau Inc., will retire on December 31.
Peeper helped create the Orlando CVB in July 1984, which developed from a staff of two to the current staff of 150 people with four convention sales satellite offices and tourism offices in five countries.
Prior to coming to Orlando in May 1981, Peeper served as president of the Greater Hartford Convention and Visitors Bureau. He also served for six years at the New Orleans convention bureau and began his career in Dayton, Ohio, in 1970, with the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Peeper has has held leadership roles for numerous professional associations, including the Professional Convention Management Association, Convention Industry Council, Florida Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus, and Destination Marketing Association International (formerly the International Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus). He is treasurer of the Travel Industry Association of America.
