SITE will return to its roots as the Crystal Awards return to their first home: Chicago. Award recipients will be announced in grand style at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre on Monday, September 23, preceding the Motivation Show. Motivation programs that delivered their rewards between June 16, 2001 and April 30, 2002 are eligible for the 2002 competition.

In reviewing the awards program, Awards Chair Frank Lee (president, The Pinstriped Carrot, San Francisco, CA) and his committee have redefined categories to address the practical realities of budget allocations, program length, and group size that are addressed by incentive professionals on a daily basis. "We felt it was important to Œlevel the playing‚ field in the competition," he explains. The new and expanded categories will make the evaluation process more equitable as it factors in variations in participant numbers, budget outlays, and cost differentials around the world.

Partnering with SITE to honor the best incentive travel programs worldwide is IMEX, the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings, and events, which will launch its new tradeshow in Frankfurt in April 2003.

The awards presentation will serve as the centerpiece event during a Networking Reception at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. The glittering awards, provided by Kosta Boda, will compete for delegate‚s attention with the magnificent skyline and lakefront views offered from the courtyard-style theater‚s Navy Pier location. Ruby Serra, meetings & incentive travel manager, Singapore Tourism Board serves as the chair of the Awards presentation. Lucy Eisele and the staff of Creative Memories will produce the awards presentation.
