Loews Hotels & Resorts announced in February that it had acquired the 225-room Back Bay Hotel in Boston. The former Doyle Collection property is located in a historic 1920s building at the corner of Berkeley and Stuart Streets—the former headquarters of the Boston Police Department. Loews Hotels plans an approximatey $8 million renovation scheduled to begin in the fall. Loews also recently acquired the 356-room Madison Hotel in Washington, D.C., converting it to the Loews Madison Hotel, and has properties under construction in Orlando and Chicago.
