Melvin Tennant, CAE, vice president of RCMA's board and president and CEO of Meet Minneapolis, has been elected to the board of directors of the U.S. Travel Association. The USTA ( is the national, nonprofit organization representing and promoting all components of the travel industry, which generates $1.8 trillion in economic output and supports 14 million jobs. The board of directors manages the business of the association, votes on organization decisions, and oversees the disbursement of monetary funds.

“USTA has been a tireless advocate for the travel and tourism industry and it's an honor to serve alongside another group of well-respected industry peers,” he says.

Tennant has been involved with RCMA since 1985. He was appointed vice president of RCMA's board last year, the first supplier to hold this position. Tennant will be playing a big role at next year's RCMA World Conference & Exposition, which will be held in Minneapolis, January 29-February 1, 2013.
