Florida's Tampa Bay & Company recently announce that the Philadelphia Church of God will be bring its Feast of Tabernacles meeting to the city for three consecutive years, beginning in 2012.
Combined, the conventions will welcome 6,600 delegates to Tampa Bay, producing over 7,000 hotel room nights and creating $1.8 million in delegate spending, according to a Tampa Bay & Company press release.
The annual seven-day Feast of Tabernacles festival has been held in locations around the world, including Australia, India, Belgium, Peru, and the Philippines. The festival focuses on building church unity and strong families through spiritual instruction and recreational activities.
and events are an important market for Tampa. RCMA brought more than 1,000 people to Tampa in January for its 39th World Conference & Expo, the third time the association has come to the city.
Florida's Orange County Convention Center has named Rodney Gutierrez, CMP, and Kathleen Cotter senior sales managers.
Rodney Gutierrez has more than 19 years of hospitality and sales experience. Before coming to the OCCC, he was a meetings and events manager for BCD Travel. Prior to joining the OCCC, Cotter worked for Walt Disney World Resorts for more than 20 years in a variety of sales androles, most recently as senior sales manager for park and event sales. The OCCC is the second-largest convention facility in the U.S.
