The 39th World Conference and Exposition convenes January 25-28, 2011, in Tampa, Florida. This is the place where outstanding educational tutorials will give every participant the opportunity to enhance their personal and professional growth. Attendees will discover firsthand why the RCMA conference is the longest-running and most successful event for religious meeting professionals.
The theme for the conference is “New Vision” because the program's focus is on cutting-edge insights that will help religious meeting professionals achieve excellence in management — taking their meetings to new heights. Exhibitors will present their best cost-saving packages and great buys. The hundreds of suppliers at the trade show represent a wealth of meeting destinations, sites, and services, giving meeting planners the chance to network, book business, and expand their knowledge of the hospitality industry.
RCMA's Behind-the-Scenes Experiences are a unique benefit of the conference. Meeting planners can choose a hands-on experience in the areas of hotel management, food and beverage, convention services, or conference advertising. Attendees can also earn educational credits toward their Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification. The conference will kick off with a great selection of sightseeing tours, including visits to the Florida Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo, and the Henry B. Plant Museum. (For full details, visit rcmaweb.org.)
General session speakers include inspirational speaker/Mount Everest climber Gary Guller; Karen McCullough, who will address how to bridge the generational communication gap; and the master motivator and entertainer Billy Riggs. A special evening program is planned for Busch Gardens. Attendees will be able to sample a variety of fun attractions, enjoy a fabulous banquet, and experience up-close encounters with some of the zoo's wild animals.
The economical registration fee covers participation in all conference activities, and includes seven meals, the gala reception, tutorials, and special events. This year RCMA has launched a hosted-buyer scholarship program to encourage as many planners as possible to attend. (See page 10 for more info.)
