The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa, located within the Port Royal Plantation along the Atlantic Coast of South Carolina, revealed its $30 million renovation in April.
Among the highlights are an enhanced arrival and resort landscape with eco-friendly flora, such as live oaks, palmetto trees, and native flowers, as well as a botanical conservatory; a new welcoming lobby with check-in pods replacing a front desk and a two-story vertical garden of mounted wall planters; and a luxurious refurbishment of all 416 guest rooms and suites, all equipped with Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed, a 42-inchflat-screen TV, iPod docking stations, and updated Wi-Fi.

More than 37,000 square feet of upgraded meeting and event space features enhanced Wi-Fi and new digital signage. The space is spread out among 19 meeting rooms, including a 13,200-square-foot Grand Ballroom, an Oceanfront Pavilion, and two executive boardrooms.
To stay active on site, guests can try the new WestinWorkout Fitness Studio or three refinished outdoor pools with new decking, private cabanas, fire pits, and fountains. The resort also offers the Heavenly Spa by Westin and three 18-hole golf courses at the Port Royal Golf Club—The Barony, Planter’s Row, and Robber’s Row, designed by George W. Cobb, Willard C. Byrd, and Pete Dye, respectively. The Port Royal Racquet Club, now home to the Ivan Lendl International Junior Tennis Academy, has 14 courts.
