The Texas chapter of Site, the global association of incentive travel executives, is hosting Technology Summit 2013, May 4 to 6, at Secrets The Vine Cancun Resort & Spa in Cancun, Mexico. It is open to all meeting professionals, not just Site members. Qualified meeting and incentive professionals can apply to attend as hosted buyers.

Site Texas has gathered some of the best technology minds in the meeting, incentive, and events industry to present, and the roughly 100 attendees will “enter a learning laboratory” to hear about the latest trends in meeting technology, says Site Texas vice president in charge of social media, Mark Mosley, founder of Moze Concierge, a social media and incentive firm.

Speakers include Stormi Boyd, CMP, CMM, senior events and convention manager for Keller Williams Realty International, Austin, Texas, who will present on how to ditch the binder for a tablet; and Sam Stanton, chief experience officer at, who will speak on the social media revolution. Creating mobile apps for events, using QR codes effectively, and incorporating best practices into your registration Web sites are also topics on the agenda.

Corbin Ball, CSP, CMP, MS, will do a keynote talk on “Mobile Applications for Meetings and Tradeshows: How Smart Phones and Tablets are Revolutionizing Events,” and he plans to stay throughout the meeting.

The closing general session on Tuesday promises to be fun. It’s called “Stump the Geeks,” and the audience will be invited to ask any technology related questions to the illustrious panel of speakers.
