The International Association of Exhibitions and Events will co-locate its Midyear Meeting with ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership’s annual meeting next August in Atlanta.
IAEE’s Midyear Meeting will be held August 5-7 at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, while ASAE will hold its annual meeting a few blocks away at the Georgia World Congress Center from August 3-6. The announcement was made at IAEE’s annual meeting and exhibition, Expo! Expo!, which is being held this week, December 4-6, in Orlando.
Through the partnership, IAEE attendees can attend ASAE’s networking events and its exhibition. ASAE attendees will be able to attend IAEE’s educational sessions, which are primarily focused on exhibition management. The two organizations have worked together in the past on projects, so this co-location was a natural progression, officials say.
"Co-location with our partner organizations provides value back to our members,” says IAEE President and CEO David DuBois, CMP, CAE. “Leaders can assess the state of the exhibitions and events industry and determine how best to maximize their resources and to grow their own events and strengthen the industry overall."
Speaking live from a virtual town hall at Expo! Expo! on December 5, DuBois says the partnership will expose the association to a broader audience of ASAE members.
"This partnership makes sense,” adds ASAE President & CEO John Graham, CAE. “Both ASAE and IAEE seek to grow our key meetings, and our audiences can greatly benefit from both perspectives. The dialogue will undoubtedly open new doors for doing business together and creating long-lasting partnerships."
IAEE co-located its Midyear Meeting in 2010 in Boston with National Trade Productions’ TS2 meeting, which caters to exhibition professionals. For the past two years, the Midyear Meeting has been held in early June in Washington, D.C.
