Fairmont Turns to Wind Power for Help
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts stepped up its environmental efforts recently when it announced that the juice for 249 of its check-in computers throughout North America will be Eco-Logo-certified wind power, purchased from the independent not-for-profit environmental policy research and education organization Penumbra Institute.
The chain expects this will reduce the amount of greenhouse gas produced by its hotels by almost 100 tons in a year. Fairmont's environmental initiative also addresses waste-management issues, water and energy conservation, habitat protection, and community outreach.
