Changing Faces

At the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority, Ronald W. Davis has been named senior vice president of sales and customer relations. Davis was most recently president and CEO of the Oakland (Calif.) CVB.

The Knoxville, Tenn., Convention & Visitors Bureau has added two new convention sales staff members: Edgar M. Foster Jr., has joined the bureau as vice president of sales; and Kim Paul has joined as sales manager. Both will promote Knoxville and the new Knoxville Convention Center, which is set to open this July.

The independent meeting planning firm Conferon, based in Twinsburg, Ohio, has appointed Shelley K. McLoughlin national sales manager for its Boston office, where she will be responsible for the Northeast market. McLoughlin was previously sales director, meeting planning channel, for Passkey.

Stephen E. Peeler has joined the Greater Milwaukee Convention & Visitors Bureau's Washington, D.C., satellite office as director of eastern regional sales. Previously, Peeler was employed as Mid-Atlantic regional sales director of seeUthere.com.

Sallye Grant-DiVenuti has been promoted to director of Hampton (Va.) Conventions & Tourism. Grant-DiVenuti has been with Hampton since 1994 and has served as its interim director since October 2000.

Going Places

Adam's Mark Hotels & Resorts has completed a $53 million expansion of its Daytona Beach, Fla., hotel, opening a North Tower addition that nearly doubles the resort's size. The tower offers 306 oceanfront rooms, 35,000 square feet of meeting space, and an enclosed corridor connecting the tower to the existing hotel. The resort now has 746 guest rooms and 60,000 square feet of meeting space.

The $160-million Knoxville, Tenn., Convention Center is scheduled to open in July. It will include 119,922 square feet of exhibit space, a 27,300-square-foot, divisible ballroom, 14 meeting rooms, three luxury conference rooms, and a 415-seat lecture hall.
