News from RCMA 2005: RCMA MAKES GIFT TO FOOD ORGANIZATION
To help meet the needs of starving people around the world, the Religious Conference Management Association has contributed $100,000 to the World Food Programme.
Noting that a child dies every five seconds from starvation, DeWayne S. Woodring, RCMA's executive director, recalled the East African saying: “Each child is everyone's child.”
“As an association, we need to do our part in addressing the ravages of hunger that exist in the world today.”
Jack Stone, immediate past president of RCMA's Board of Directors, said it is necessary to provide a response to human need wherever it occurs. “Our association's contribution enables every one of our members to share in making an impact on many lives in impoverished areas of the world.”
“I am completely overwhelmed by your generosity,” declared James Morris, executive director of the World Food Programme. “Your gift will feed 3,000 children for a full school year. Because of RCMA, their lives will never be the same, all for the better. We are so grateful to you.”
