Catch The Spirit at RCMA 2009
Make plans now to attend “Catch The Spirit,” RCMA's 37th World Conference and Exposition, Jan. 27-30, 2009, in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Grand Rapids is excited to host RCMA and show what the city offers as a destination for religious meetings. The Tuesday afternoon tours during RCMA offer attendees the opportunity to get a feel for Grand Rapids:
The Gerald R. Ford Museum and Library. Permanent exhibits allow visitors to participate in history, not just view it, while reviewing the highlights of the life of President Ford. In addition to the permanent exhibits, temporary exhibits draw upon the rich holdings of the entire Presidential libraries system, the Smithsonian Institution, and the National Archives.
Grand Rapids Art Museum. Established in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, the new art museum is internationally known for its distinguished design and LEED Gold certified status. Established in 1910 as the Grand Rapids Art Association, GRAM has grown to include more than 5,000 works of art, including American and European 19th and 20th century painting and sculpture and more than 3,000 works on paper.
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. Comprised of 125 acres of natural wetlands, woodlands, meadows and botanical gardens, Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is a year-around experience with indoor tropical, arid, carnivorous, Victorian and seasonal gardens, sculpture gallery with shows by international artists, and outdoor acreage featuring a world-class sculpture park.
A tour of Grand Rapids, including a stop at the Meyer May House, a 1908 masterpiece of prairie-style architecture and one of the most complete restorations of a Frank Lloyd Wright house in existence.
