Albany County (N.Y.) Airport Authority and Huntsville International Airport in Alabama have signed on to the Registered Traveler program.

Albany officials have picked Verified Identity Pass to operate their airport security fast lanes. Travelers will be able to sign up for Verified’s Clear program, in which they pay a $99.95 fee to be screened by the Transportation Security Administration and receive a biometric identity card that provides them with expedited passage through airport security.

In the meantime, Huntsville International Airport has become the FLO (Fast Lane Option) Alliance’s first RT customer. The FLO Alliance is a consortium of technology, finance, and security companies headed by Saflink Corp. of Kirkland, Wash. No date has been set for the RT program to begin in Huntsville.

Verified now runs RT programs at Orlando; San José, Calif.; Indianapolis; and Cincinnati airports, as well as Terminal 7 at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. In April, Clear planned to begin operating programs at JFK's Terminal 1 and 4 as well as Terminal B of Newark (N.J.) Liberty International Airport. In addition, Clear has an agreement with Toronto Pearson International Airport to get a program operating there.
