RCMA will hold its first Advisory Committee meeting April 30–May 2 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville, in Jacksonville, Fla.
Council participants are all meeting planners, representing a cross-section of themarket, with a “balance of current and former members, as well as some that have never been members of RCMA,” says, Dean Jones, CMP, the association’s director of meetings and events. “There is a mix of denominational and para-church ministries, as well as some third parties with clients who hold faith-based meetings.”
Jones says the purpose of the council is to review current and future strategies and initiatives, as well as to gather “feedback regarding best practices, industry trends, and what’s needed in general to meet member needs and create loyalty and community among the faith-based/RCMA market segment. This council will be a one-time meeting, with no continuing commitment asked of attendees, he says, adding that there will be other councils, including one later this year with only suppliers. “But these meetings will consist of new members and will be designed to obtain membership feedback," he notes.
