RCMA's Emerge 2013 to Feature John Cassis as Keynote

The Religious Conference Management Association has released more details about its upcoming annual conference, Emerge, January 29-February 1, 2013 in Minneapolis.

The speaker at the opening general session on Tuesday will be popular keynoter John Cassis. With his diverse background, Cassis knows firsthand how to embrace change, face adversity, and meet the daily pressures of life head-on. He played baseball for the California Angels, was the inspirational speaker for the Chicago Bears from 1983-1995, served as minister to a small church in Colorado, addressed issues of world hunger as director of special projects for World Relief, and became a professional golfer in 2002.

Shawna Suckow, CMP, will be the luncheon speaker on Tuesday. A meeting planner since 1992, she founded SPIN, the Senior Planners Industry Network, in 2008, which is now a leading association for senior-level planners. She has written for several industry publications and spoken worldwide, and is the author of two books: “Planner Pet Peeves” and “Supplier Pet Peeves.”

Social activities will kick off with a group outing on Monday night to the Mall of America, the largest mall in the world. In addition to a reception, there will be plenty of time to shop and explore.

The following evening will feature an opening reception on the top floor of the IDS Building, with its fabulous view of Minneapolis. And in a first for RCMA, Wednesday will be an open night for dinner, followed by a dessert reception hosted by the Hyatt Minneapolis from 8:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m.

You can find register online for Emerge 2013 at rcmaweb.org. You will need to pre-register for the Tuesday morning programs and tour options.
