Who’s In the News: Christie Hicks

Christie Hicks has been promoted to senior vice president, global sales for Starwood Hotels and resorts. She will be responsible for sales at the corporate and divisional levels of the company and will supervise the global sales organizations around the world, reporting directly to Javier Benito, executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

Prior to this new position, Hicks led Starwood’s global sales organization for North America including group, leisure, and corporate transient sales.

Known for her candor, Hicks often speaks at industry events, including participation in Association Meetings’ annual roundtable. She received the Professional Convention Management Association Professional Achievement award in 2005 and serves on the American Society of Association Executives board of directors, the PCMA Educational Foundation, as chair of the Convention Industry Council Foundation, and is a member of the SITE Foundation.
