X in the Greek alphabet stands for “ch,” the first letters of the family name Chandris, the original Greek founders of Chandris Cruises. Before its acquisition by Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises was launched as Chandris Cruises, and several members of the Chandris family worked in both companies.
