The Yachts of Seabourn

The News: Because of advance booking for the Seabourn Odyssey, the first of two new, ultra-luxury ships, The Yachts of Seabourn, a brand of Carnival Corp., has ordered a third ship, at a cost of more than $288 million.
Specs: Each ship accommodates 450 guests in 225 suites.
Time Frame: The third ship is scheduled for delivery in summer 2011; the second is planned for summer 2010; and the first debuts June 2009.
Extra: All-inclusive policies such as complimentary open bars, open-seating dining; “green” technology
Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Fort Lauderdale, Fla
The News: Apollo Management LP has acquired Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Regent will continue to operate out of Fort Lauderdale, under the management of Prestige Cruise Holdings.
Specs: Regent, with four six-star vessels, focuses on the luxury segment of the marketplace.
Time Frame: Deal expected to be completed first quarter 2008
