a temporary convention hall?
With the San Jose McEnery Convention Center bursting at the seams and a failed ballot for a tax-supported expansion, city officials took action. They built a temporary facility, South Hall, which opened in June, adding 80,000 square feet adjacent to the McEnery. The facility, which is column-free, aluminum-framed, and fully insulated, is expected to last eight to 10 years, while city leaders look for ways to get a permanent structure built.
