Wynn Rises Above the Las Vegas Strip
Steve Wynn's dream with his just-opened resort, Wynn Las Vegas, was to redefine the city he helped to create as developer of the Mirage, Treasure Island, and Bellagio (all of which he later sold to MGM). He wanted to build a landmark that rises above the rest simply through its architecture and elegance.
Elegant it is, with all 2,716 guest rooms in the 50-story bronze tower including flat-screen televisions, floor-to-ceiling windows, and European linens. The resort also has a Tom Fazio/Steve Wynn — designed golf course, a 110,000-square-foot casino, a spa, a manmade pond, and 75,000 square feet of designer boutiques including Chanel, Cartier, and Dior. There is also an art gallery with Picassos, Monets, Rembrandts, and others from Steve and Elaine Wynn's private collection. A show by Franco Dragone called Le Reve (“The Dream”) is performed nightly in the resort's beautiful dome-shaped theater.
Wynn Las Vegas boasts 200,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 50,000-square-foot ballroom. According to a spokesperson, groups have been steadily booking the resort for the past year.
