Incentive groups will have a new option at Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort in late 2012: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
With almost 2,000 rooms (1,120 suites and 864 traditional rooms), Walt Disney World's Art of Animation Resort will be a new option for small and large incentive programs when it opens in late 2012. But with no meeting space, the property is not targeting the association or meetings markets.
The new resort will be designed in sections featuring four of Disney’s successful animated films: “The Little Mermaid,” “Finding Nemo,” “The Lion King,” and “Cars.” The property is under construction near Disney’s Pop Century resort.
Disney’s announcement of the new resort took an optimistic tone. “This project underscores our optimism about the future and faith in the long-term prospects for leisure groups and incentive travel,” said George Aguel, senior vice president for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
