The new Digital Event Strategist Certification program has its first 50 applicants, according to the Virtual Edge Institute, which opened its Digital U education center at the end of November.
The DES program, which VES has been developing over the past year, is aimed at professionals who want to learn more about designing and executing digital events. Candidates must complete 16 e-learning courses and pass a final exam. Course titles include Digital Event Modes & Models; Content Strategy & Development; Project and Resource Management; and Engagement: Networking, Interactive Strategies & Methods
The first final exam will be January 13, during the Professional Convention Management Association’s Convening Leaders conference in Orlando, Fla.
Scholarships from Freeman and bxb Online are available to cover the application, online learning program, and final exam fees for DES candidates. The online courses are also open to individuals who aren’t going after the certification.
