eTouches, an event technology company in Ridgefield, Conn., is making it simple for customers of its Web-based meeting planning tools to launch mobile apps for their meetings and events.
With the new eMobile product, eTouches customers can create meeting-specific mobile applications that put the event schedule and attendee list on users’ phones and allow attendees to share contact information, create personal agendas, and log on to sites.
“We’ve created a conduit for data exchange between eTouches’ product line” and a, said the company’s vice president of association and nonprofit practices, Suzanne Carawan, during a webinar announcing the eMobile service. “There’s no dual updating, no redundancy.”
eMobile was designed by mobile app developer CrowdCompass, based in Portland, Ore. For groups that want additional functionality, CrowdCompass can provide mobile app add-ons, such as positions for sponsorship advertising, floor maps, local-area maps, and advanced reporting capabilities. The eMobile apps work on iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, and Android devices and do not require Wi-Fi connectivity.
eTouches, which counts Dell, Audi, Nokia, and the Association of Corporate Travel Executives among its customers, offers 13 modular event planning software products, including eReg for attendee registration, which clients must use in order to exchange attendee data with the mobile app. eTouches event planning tools are also available for budgeting, project management, scheduling, badge creation, speaker/exhibitor/sponsor management, creating event Web sites, seating, surveying, e-mail marketing, venue selection, booth purchasing, social networking, and analytics.
