Cvent: A Full Suite of Upgrades
Meeting technology solutions provider Cvent have orchestrated separate...Cvent has made a number of announcements recently. Major hotel chain partnerships will enhance its free electronic RFP supplier network of more than 75,000 hotels and venues; a new budget-friendly toolset is available for organizations launching strategic meetings management programs; and a partnership with Cisco WebEx Meeting Center adds webinar technology to Cvent’s other online meeting management offerings.
Long known for its expertise in softwared for online registration and meeting management, Cvent set out 18 months ago to invest in its infrastructure and to bring its technology platforms to the next level. “We’ve listened to our customers and introduced more than 100 major feature upgrades,” says Chuck Ghoorah, executive vice president of sales and marketing and one of Cvent’s cofounders.
Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Marriott International, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, and dozens of other chains have announced partnerships with Cvent’s Supplier Network, a free online marketplace and RFP tool for meeting planners to use when sourcing their meetings.
Millennium is offering “A Perfect 10 Meeting” package exclusively through the Cvent site, Marriott is offering exclusive promotions and guarantees about accurate responses to RFPs generated through Cvent, and Hyatt is offering rewards points and exclusive promotions to planners who book group business through Cvent.
Cvent’s new SMMP tools will help organizations track and manage their meeting spend. According to Ghoorah, Cvent invested more than 50,000 hours and $5 million to improve its enterprise software offerings and create a cost-effective, user-friendly, and customizable way for planners to track meeting activity and spend and document savings associated with their SMMPs.
Finally, in response to the demand for managing online events as well as face-to-face events, Cvent has integrated its online registration and marketing application with Cisco WebEx Meeting Center.
“Now our customers can use Cvent’s meeting management system to market and conduct registrations for their online meetings,” says Ghoorah. “Virtual meetings are nothing new, but the ability to put sophisticated horsepower behind the marketing and management of online meetings has been missing from the marketplace.”
