NASA rocket scientist and author, Adam Steltzner, kicked off the conference discussing how participants could harness their curiosity and spur innovation in their associations. The keys are to separate the ideas from the people, create a culture of innovation and collaboration, hold onto doubt, stay agile and always be curious.
The scene at one of the sessions at the Digital Convergence Summit, a full-day program hosted by Community Brands and Visit San Jose, that focused on data analytics, data privacy and data strategy, as well as how associations are dealing with related data challenges and opportunities.

Another of ASAE's general sessions was a Community Town Hall, where attendees openly confronted the issues and opportunities of mergers and consolidations, including the infusion of venture capital, with leaders from Community Brands, Higher Logic, and DelCor.
Among audience members who participated in the town hall meeting was KiKi L'Italien, digital marketing strategist, Amplified Growth, LLC.
Some participants took a break from booth-hopping to sit down with handwriting analyst, speaker, and entertainer Elaine Charal (right).
The sold-out exhibit floor included 132 companies and 176 booths.
