Underwater Greeting at Atlantis
For an incentive group at Atlantis’ The Dig, a marine exhibit that winds through tunnels of sunken ruins, Creative Group positioned a friendly diver in the aquarium to greet guests at the welcome dinner. As souvenirs, the company also took photos of participants with the diver in the background.
Trustees and Signature Drinks
For the Incentive Research Foundation’s Annual Incentive Invitational at the Hard Rock Resort in Cancun last spring, attendees received a VIP welcome from the organization’s trustees, who were gathered at the entrance, along with a flower for the ladies and a signature drink created by the hotel in the color of the IRF brand: green.
Fashion Shoot Welcome
For 100 top executives attending a hotel industry leadership conference in New Jersey, EventWorks designed an NYC fashion shoot welcome (with a big dose of purple, the color of the hotel logo). EventWorks took advantage of the waterfront location and incorporated the ferry crossing from Manhattan into the Hoboken welcome. As guests stepped off the ferry dock, they entered a purple world with entertainers greeting the crowd, mysterious costumed women mingling among the guests, a purple-colored dog walker, even break-dancers, then passed by a live fashion photo shoot as they strolled along the boardwalk to their hotel destination.
Big Texas Howdy
From the moment her groups arrive in
Dallas, they know just where they are,
says Laurie Sprouse of Ultimate Ventures. Attendees are greeted at the airport by a cowboy singer and a cooler filled with their choice of water or a long-neck beer. A saloon girl or a UV staffer offers themed gifts ranging from customized Texas flag bandanas, to sheriff badges, to Texas’ unofficial state flower, a yellow rose. As they are transferred by motorcoach, they hear an overview of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and enjoy live cowboy music all the way to the hotel.
Brass Band Welcome in Malta
For a group welcome at Malta International Airport by Ovation Global DMC, hostesses in traditional Maltese costume were on hand to greet attendees and hand out water and Maltese sweets. The group traveled in vintage buses to the hotel, where they were greeted with another surprise: a 10-piece brass band. Then it was on to the pool area for a private check-in and a Kinnie—a Maltese soft drink.
Local Art Opening in Hawaii
For a program in Hawaii, Dabney Bixel of Bixel and Company created an art fair to welcome guests. Artisans from the region, including a jewelry designer, sculptor, painter, photographer, and wind chime maker, greeted them and presented their crafts. Each guest was given the opportunity to choose his or her own opening night turndown amenity using gift dollars that were redeemable with any of the artists.
