The On-Site Gift Experience
The Original
Maui Jim personnel fit attendees with sunglasses during a golf event. The on-site experience, including the glasses and the fitters’ time and travel, costs between $100 and $150 per person. The company has worked with groups of up to 5,000 guests.
Your Perfect Pair
The on-site setup from the Blues Jean Bar. (Yes, it’s Blues Jean Bar, not Blue Jeans Bar—the founder’s goal was to recreate the laid-back feeling of a blues bar.) Attendees work with a “jeantender” to find their perfect color, cut, size, and brand. The company brings several high-end brands (Joe’s, Paige Premium, James) as well as smaller brands that may end up as new favorites. The company has fitted up to 700 attendees.
Price: $125 to $250 per person, including the jeans and the fitters’ time and travel
High-End Sound
It’s all about sound at The Bose Event Experience, presented by Incentive Concepts. The professional team helps attendees choose the Bose products that best suit their lifestyles. A wide variety of headsets, ear buds, and bluetooth accessories is available, starting $100 per person. Incentive Concepts has run The Bose Event Experience for a group of 100 executives and for a conference with several thousand of a company’s top customers. An ideal size is between 150 and 400 participants.
Telling Time Beautifully
Bulova can provide watch styles for budgets that range from less than $100 per person to several thousand dollars. Watches come with a gift box and gift bag. Bulova sets spending minimums for different program levels, and on-site personnel time and travel expenses vary based on those levels as well. Groups that choose to have watches professionally sized for attendees pay a $10 per person event fee.
Bring the Sizzle
Hot off the grill comes a new option from Omaha Steaks: the on-site steak tasting. The experience includes a cooking demo, education about different cuts of beef, a take-home guide (“10 Tips to Perfect Grilling”), and an Omaha Steaks gift certificate. The company ships tablecloths and banners; your venue provides the setup. The tasting experience works well with groups of 250 to 500 attendees.
Price: Gift certificates must be a minimum of $75 each; event minimum is $25,000.
Shades With Benefits
Choosing Tom’s sunglasses as your on-site gift experience adds a philanthropic element. For each pair of glasses you buy, Tom’s donates a portion of the purchase price to fund sight-saving surgery or corrective lenses for people in need.
Price: From $110 per person, including the glasses and the fitters’ time and travel
