Atlanta Wins for ASAE Video Series
The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau received a Platinum Adrian Award for the ATL Files, a yearlong video series created for the American Society of Association Executives Annual Meeting held in Atlanta in August 2013. Springfield, MO Awarded for Meeting Planner Campaign
The Springfield, Mo., Convention & Visitors Bureau received a Platinum Adrian Award for a multi-tiered marketing campaign featuring sock monkey Sammie Springfield. Sammie Springfield, the Sock Monkey
In the award-winning campaign for the Springfield, Mo., CVB, nearly 400 meeting planners received coffee table books featuring Sammie Springfield enjoying the sites, hotels, and meeting facilities in the city. A couple weeks later, the same planners received their very own Sammie sock monkeys.
Two-Story Networking
The 90-minute cocktail party, staged on two floors of the New York Marriott Marquis, served as dinner. It gave plenty of time to network, making the awards the focus of the seated event that followed.
An Imaginative Room Set
The main awards event featured rectangular table sets rather than rounds. All eyes were centered on the stage.
Where's Mikey?
In addition to some 30 awards given out that evening, HSMAI honored the “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing” and had them come on stage for a photo opp. Among them: Michael Dominguez: senior vice president of corporate hotel sales, MGM Resorts International.
Lifetime Achievers

Shall We Dance?
Howard Feiertag (left), instructor, Virginia Tech, a well-known hospitality industry veteran, won HSMAI's Winthrop W. Grice Award last year, and was on hand to honor this year's recipient, Richard S. Kahn, president and owner of Kahn Travel Communications (KTCpr).
