This summer the Medical Specialty Societies Member Section of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions is offering two one-day meetings: One to be held August 7 at the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in Downers Grove, Ill., and the other to be held August 13 at the American College of Cardiology in Washington, D.C.

The meetings will kick off with plenary panelists discussing some of the strategies they use to improve their professional practice, from the pros and cons of earning a Certified CME Professional designation to how to use the Alliance’s competencies and resources to grow professionally. The plenary will be followed with mini town hall meetings where peer groups will talk about learning management systems (LMS), Maintenance of Certification (MOC), grant funding, and the accreditation process.

Once participants have shared their ideas, strategies, and options, organizers then will take the pearls that are shared among peers at the meeting, document them, and then share them with the registered participants after the meeting. According to meeting organizers, the focus will be on building a network of colleagues that specialty society ACEHP members can turn to with questions or just to discuss CME.
