Event and media company Hanley Wood acquired the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo from the U.S. Green Building Council.

As part of the deal, USGBC will continue to produce Greenbuild’s educational programming. “This is an extraordinary opportunity for USGBC and the green building movement,” said Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO, and founding chair of USGBC. Greenbuild, in its 12th year, is one of the largest trade shows in the construction industry with 30,000 attendees and over 9,000 exhibiting companies.

The deal allows USGBC to accelerate investment in its core mission of broadening its influence on green building policy, expanding the marketplace, enhancing the tools that improve building performance, and increasing their focus on human health and social equity.

Hanley Wood’s expertise in exhibition and conference management along with its media, information, and strategic marketing services will enable Greenbuild to expand domestically and globally, officials said.
