As part of a new corporate partnership with Shaw Communications, the Edmonton Convention Centre has been renamed the Shaw Conference Centre. The renaming is part of a $7.7 million package, including a one-time contribution of C$500,000 ($358,000) for convention center upgrades. Shaw will use the facility to showcase some of its services, including its digital music system and Internet access service.
