Towering 20 stories over Disney World is the theme park's newest attraction, Expedition Everest, which opened April 7 at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Expedition Everest, a re-creation of the Himalayan peak, features a high-speed train ride that begins at the fabled mountain village of Serka Zong and winds through the exotic alpine landscape to the top of the 200-foot peak. All this leads to a thrilling encounter with the mystical yeti.
From themed receptions and dessert parties to gala opening and closing events, meeting professionals will find a range of private event options at the attraction.
The board of directors of Meeting Professionals International was among the first groups to preview the new attraction. It held a private reception and dinner there while attendees — including Christine Duffy, MPI Board chairwoman and president and CEO of Maritz Travel — braved the roller coaster ride.
