If you try to get some ink for your event by sending out press releases, please read this article in Chief Marketer about the seven deadly sins of press releases. Oh, I wish that those who write the sinful 95 percent of the press releases I receive had read this one. My all time least favorite is when they call and ask if I got their PR. No, make that the person who called while I was out at a meeting today and read their entire press release into my answering machine.
