ACCME Adds More Clarification about REMS to its FAQ Page

The Accreditation Council for CME has added a few more answers to its FAQ page, this time on REMS. So if these are your burning questions, head on over:

Is it acceptable for an accredited provider to include product-specific content in an activity based on the FDA ER/LA Opioid Analgesics REMS blueprint?

Is it acceptable to include content developed by a commercial interest for an activity that supports the ER/LA Opioid Analgesics REMS?

Does the ACCME information about the ER/LA Opioid Analgesics REMS apply to all REMS?

Also new on the site is a bunch of videos on how CME can address public health initiatives, including  a three-part video interview with David K. Mineta, Deputy Director of Demand Reduction, Office of National Drug Control Policy, on how CME can address the prescription drug abuse epidemic; another three-parter with Sharyn Lee, RN, MS, CCMEP, Director of Strategic Affairs, PRIME Education Inc., on how to work collaboratively with the US government and military to address healthcare improvement; and a video interview with Jennifer D’Alessandro, Associate Director for Clinical Education, and former Program Manager, National Committee for Quality Assurance, who talks about how practice-based measures can support performance improvement for physicians and healthcare teams.
