Publisher creates company to handle its CME

Associates in Medical Marketing recently created a separate company to handle all of its continuing medical education projects, according to a press release.

The new company, Medical Learning Systems (MLS), will coordinate and administer the company‘s print and electronic programs that are accredited for continuing education. The Newtown, PA, company was established “as a separate, independent unit that will concentrate solely on its mission to produce evidence-based continuing education programs,” according to Marvin Anzel, President.

MLS will assume all duties for the CE projects that the company has delivered in conjunction with some 40 medical, nursing, and pharmacy schools throughout the United States, Anzel said. MLS will operate as a separate, independent company that will develop its own materials and resources.

AMM will contunue to provide publishing services for nonaccredited projects, including journals, monographs, and meeting services, as well as clinical handbooks through its subsidiary, Handbooks in Health Care Co.
