Speakers and security restrictions: Look out

RSS

Mike over at Communicatio is expecting complications with big-name speakers due to the newly onerous airport security restrictions. He says:

I'm informed that because of the increased airport security measures and the inevitable delays at major airports, a number of the upper-tier ($50K+) speakers are making a charter a requirement, and some are turning down gigs that require a long flight altogether.

If this is true, and I have no reason to believe it's not, watch out for major headaches down the road—and increased costs for flying the big shots in.

By the way, I just found Mike via the newly spiffed up Association Blogoclump site. Check it out for some interesting voices in all things association, including meetings.
