Did you know that your restaurant server might be having tips deducted to pay for the cost of processing your credit card transaction? This I hadn’t heard of until I read this article in the Denver Post. It’s a little complicated, and varies state to state, but in Colorado anyway, looks like it’s illegal.
Stick up for the little guy—ask your restaurant if it does this before your next dine-around.
