Update on faker of CME credits

An update on this post about Maryland physician and high-ranking Medicare officia, Sean Tunis' faking his CME records. According to the Baltimore Sun, Tunis

    has agreed to a one-year suspension from practicing medicine and a $20,000 fine for altering documents meant to prove that he had completed mandatory continuing education.

    Federal health officials wouldn't comment on whether Sean Tunis will remain as Medicare's chief medical officer and director of the Office of Clinical Standards and Quality.

    Tunis was placed on paid administrative leave in April, pending an investigation by the Department of Health and Human Services.
