The design of the Québec City Convention Centre’s 73,000-square-foot expansion project will be contemporary classic, according to a recent announcement. Aiming for a cozy and chic feel, the centre will be using materials such as quartz, ceramic, metal, steel, and wood. The main color of the expansion will be grey, accented with red and yellow. The materials and resources are being chosen to meet the requirements for LEED Canada for Commercial Interiors of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC). The existing building already has been LEED-EB certified.

The expansion, which will take the place of a shopping center near the existing building, will provide both meeting and pre-conference space, and is slated for completion in 2014.
