AT A GLANCE: BCD M&I and BCD Travel Groups (which manages travel and hotel services for conferences and other group events) merged operations in July to create BCD Meetings & Events. BCD Meetings & Events is an independently managed operating company of BCD Group and a sister organization of BCD Travel, the world’s third-largest travel management company.
In August 2014, the company completed the purchase of Universal Meeting Management Inc., which increased the company’s presence in the Southeast and its expertise in the healthcare provider sector. As a result of the acquisition, the company created the Life Sciences Center of Excellence, which provides clients with “high-touch service” and proprietary technologies to manage compliance and audits in the regulated life sciences industry.
The company also has added a new position to oversee technology platforms in the Asia-Pacific region, where the company more than doubled its revenue growth in the past year and saw an increase in the adoption of meeting management technologies.
