AT A GLANCE: In 2011, American Express re-branded its meetings business as American Express Meetings & Events and consolidated all operations under a single global organization, with local, regional, and global leadership. The company also launched Meetings Expert, providing planning, sourcing, and contracting resources for meetings that are planned outside of a managed, centralized meetings and events program. It was created for professionals who aren’t trained meeting planners but are tasked with the responsibility. In the past year, AEME also entered into exclusive agreements with Le Public Systeme, a communications company based in France, and WRG Creative Communications, a U.K.-based marketing and event production agency.
