We've all heard the expression, “laughter is the best medicine.” But can it help to reduce stress, create a more productive workforce, and foster teambuilding? Lynn Caesar, licensed psychologist and laughter yoga leader, thinks so.

Caesar's “laughter yoga” programs combine breathing techniques found in yoga with “laughter exercises,” essentially role-playing scenarios in which participants begin by faking laughter, but eventually experience the real deal.

“Laughter is the universal language,” says Caesar, who has been running the programs in universities, hospitals, and yoga centers since 2002 and sees a fit for corporate events. “It helps us to manage the negative effects of stress and promotes positive team spirit.”

Caesar recently held a workshop for 120 attendees at the National Electrical Contractors Association meeting in Boston. For more information, visit www.laughteryoga.org.
